"For this illustration, I used different techniques that, in my experience, aren't common in animation projects.

The most important of all is camera projection.

Camera projection is what the name implies: projecting what the camera sees onto the geometry.

What does this work for? Well, in some cases, it can be used to integrate 3D, which is adding digital objects within the frame.

In this case, what I did was take a photograph of the parking lot at Lincoln Plaza, used a program called Fspy to get the specific dimensions of the scene, and openly model what the space of the photograph would be.

After that, I projected the image, and voila, we have our scene. From this base, I just started building backwards in a certain way, until I found the space for my story and filled it with everything I was looking for."

I also added a folder with the reference images I took for this project. Nothing too sophisticated, just to get the mind full with information.
